Fasting Day 4
Delight in posture
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Matthew 22:37
One thing we have learned in our spiritual journey is that posture is more important than position.
The Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
As we learn to nurture our hearts filling it with an overflow of His love and unwavering devotion, our posture will align with God’s heart. The firm foundation of every thriving spiritual relationship is birthed from our deepest bond with God.
“I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.” Jeremiah 17:10
Sometimes, we miss the mark to please God, and we need to get back in the right relationship with God. Confessing sin places one in a position to receive heart cleansing. The grace of forgiveness is extended by God to all, initiated by recognizing one's sinful state and acknowledging the need for a change of heart. With heartfelt sincerity, we can pursue restoration with God, recognizing our sins permitting God to restore us and breaking free from barriers.
Let us reflect on the idea from a perceptual perspective - it's impossible to be in two locations at once. Similarly, the heart can not be divided between two masters; it can not follow Jesus wholeheartedly while also coveting and chasing after worldly possessions.
*A shift in posture sparks a transformation in the heart.
God bless
