Overflow: January 8, 2025

Updated: Jan 14, 2025

You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance. The grasslands of the wilderness overflow; the hills are clothed with gladness. The meadows are covered with flocks

and the valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing (Psalm 65: 11-13).

It's not the affirmation that poses a problem, but rather the dedication required to honor that yes.

Setting boundaries is a necessary step in protecting our spiritual well-being and relationship with Jesus, and we must not feel guilty about prioritizing these essential aspects. By establishing these boundaries, we are shaping a better future for ourselves, our spouses, children, and communities. The sun's balanced cycles offer a compelling example of the importance of timing and self-regulation. As children of the Most High, endowed with spiritual blessings, we have a duty to preserve our spiritual heritage and safeguard what we value.

Pursuing God's approval may lead to conflicts with others, resulting in offense. This can be particularly challenging when it involves family or close friends. Some individuals may expect you to neglect your spiritual needs to maintain a positive relationship with them. However, their unwillingness to surrender sinful desires does not require you to remain unchanged. Making the right decision is not always going to feel comfortable. Therefore, it is vital to anchor yourself in faith.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6). Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— (Ephesians 6:18).

Let us concentrate on reflecting what God expects from us, enabling us to align ourselves with the divine will.

Stay committed to the calling! Stay on the wall!
